New Delhi: Weight loss is way more than just about appearance. High BMI, being overweight, or obese can make you a host of many diseases and disorders such as diabetes and heart problems. Abdominal or belly fat is a major risk factor for Type 2 diabetes, which makes it very important to be in a healthy BMI range, and lose weight if you are obese, to make sure the risk of diseases is reduced.
Even if you are in a healthy BMI, including an exercise routine as a part of your lifestyle can go a long way in keeping you healthy. However, keeping yourself motivated to work out at home may not be possible all the time, and there are going to be days when you would want to just skip the whole routine. In such cases, here are five workout hacks that will help you stay on the right track to fitness, and help you achieve your goals sooner.
Working out with a partner, sibling, parent, or friend is a great way to keep yourself motivated. Even on days when you are down, your exercise companion can help motivate you and boost your energy. Many people join exercise classes with a partner to stay regular.
Internet, for the win
It is a great time to be alive because the Internet is literally a storehouse of information and knowledge. There is nothing in the world that you cannot learn from watching videos on the internet. Whether it is playing an instrument or learning to cook, or watching the right workout video, everything is possible with the help of the Internet. Your smartphone in your hand is really all you need to get on with your fitness journey, and you must use it well.
Use your own body as equipment
Your body weight is enough to act as equipment for your workout. If you have been making the excuse that you do not have proper gym equipment to exercise, it is time to stop doing that. Using your own body weight for exercises is easy, and various exercises can be performed this way. Exercises like the plank, squats, push-ups, pull-ups, crunches, etc. can be performed with no or minimal equipment.
Increase physical activity
Take breaks during work, and go for a brisk walk of five minutes. Take the stairs at work, and at home. Try to walk to the nearest market to get your everyday groceries, instead of ordering them online. Increasing physical activity in your day will help you achieve your daily goals easily, and will also help you stay motivated.
