Study: 42% of Breast Cancer Patients Use Cannabis to Alleviate Symptoms

According to a study recently published by, over 40% of breast cancer patients say they have used medical cannabis to address their symptoms. As explained in a story on Yahoo Finance, is a leading online source of information and community for breast cancer patients. The site announced the findings of a survey study they conducted with 612 breast cancer patients, between December of 2019 and January of 2020.

Cannabis for Breast Cancer Symptoms

The study, detailed by, found that more than 4 in 10 respondents, all breast cancer patients, report using cannabis to manage their symptoms. The majority of those who say they have used cannabis also reported that cannabis has been effective in managing their symptoms, including pain, insomnia, and anxiety. The study was conducted by Outcomes Insights and was funded by a grant from Ananda Health/Ecofibre.
